Russian State Agrarian University – MTAA is the oldest agricultural higher educational institution in Russia. It was founded on December 3, 1865 on the governmental order to establish the Petrovskaya academy of agriculture and forestry. |
At present, the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A.Timiryazev (RSAU-MTAA) is a large educational, scientific and production complex, comprising eleven Faculties and an Affiliate in Kaluga city. It includes the Institute of Continuing Education - “The Higher School of Management”, Educational and Methodical Department, Educational and Methodical Association of Higher Educational Institutions on Agronomic Education, International Relations Office, Planning and Economic Administration, Information Technologies Office, Postgraduate and Doctoral Education Department, Research Division, School of Agro-Business with its graduate program “Master of Business Administration”. |
The Agronomy Faculty is one of the oldest Departments of the Academy. Its history is closely related to the names of faculty members and scientists such as K.A.Timiryazev, I.A.Stebut, D.N.Pryanishnikov, A.G.Doyarenko, V.R.Williams, N.I.Vavilov, and I.S.Shatilov. I.A.Stebut was the first Dean of the Faculty. |
Faculty of Accounting and Finance is one of the new Departments of the University, since it was separated from the Faculty of Economics in 2005. Although, it has rich traditions and the Faculty’ scientific and pedagogical schools were originated as early as in 1880s. The first graduation of specialists in accounting and finance was dated the year of 1961. |
